About Training and Placement Cell

UMU’s Training and Placement Cell is a career advisory unit that strives to connect students’ career goals with the demands of the corporate world. It offers educational guidance at various levels and is intended to help students make career decisions. This cell allows the university to give students the necessary information, guidance, and training so they can easily reach their career goals by looking for and securing new positions that present the best opportunities for our students.

Objectives:

Key Characteristics of Our Placement and Training Cell:

• Programs for Training: Our placement cell arranges a range of training courses emphasizing industry-specific knowledge, technical proficiency, and soft skills. Students who complete these sessions, led by professionals in the field, will have the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to function effectively in the corporate world.
• Career Guidance: We offer students individualized career counselling to help them discover their areas of strength, interests, and desired careers. We offer students complete guidance, including resume building, workshops, and mock interviews.
• Collaborations within the Industry: Usha Martin University is a renowned university in Ranchi with academic partnerships with seasoned industries that provide ample placement opportunities for our students in the context of industry-academia collaboration.We arrange networking events, job fairs, and on-campus recruitment drives to link students with possible employers.

The Training and Placement Cell offers a wide range of services including

• Information dissemination on accessible employment opportunities and access to employers
• Preparation for placement both at internship and final placement levels.
• Comprehensive preparation for the selection process, training on behavior, stress management, non verbal communication.
• Formulation of career plans by providing assignments and projects to the students.
• Career counseling, individual or group counseling in the context of the programmes chosen by the learners
• Assistance in preparation of  CVs, Job application form, Covering letter and other Corporate / University documents
• Preparation for job interviews of varied profiles through “practice interviews” and subsequent feedback and analysis.
• Comprehensive preparation for the selection process, training on behavior, stress management, non verbal communication.
• Formulation of career plans by providing assignments and projects to the students
