Introduction to Health Science introduces students to different facets of the health-care industry. It serves as a base for Health Science, exposing students to topics such as medical history, protection, infection control, and the numerous health-care jobs available.

The Department of Pharmacy at Usha Martin University (UMU), Ranchi, established in 2020, is committed to providing quality pharmaceutical education, promoting research, innovation, and ethical professional practice. The department offersBachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacyprogrammes, preparing students for careers in academia, research, healthcare, and the pharmaceutical industry.

From the Academic Session 2026–27, the department has implemented the new PCI curriculum aligned with NEP 2020, emphasizing multidisciplinary learning, research and innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development. The curriculum also incorporates emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to prepare students for the future of pharmaceutical sciences.

The department is equipped with modern laboratories and supported by experienced faculty actively engaged in teaching, research, consultancy, and academic collaborations. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, the department has signed MoUs with leading educational institutions and pharmaceutical industries, providing students with opportunities for internships, industrial training, collaborative research, expert lectures, and skill development.
