Radio also called little media, is one of the most extensively used mass communication medium around the world. It is a handy, portable, easily accessible and cheap medium of mass communication and that’s what makes it to cover 99 per cent of the population and 93 per cent of the geographical area in India.

It has a great potential in dissemination of information, entertainment and knowledge in urban and specifically in remote rural areas of India. According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, as of December 2020 the government of India owned All India Radio alone had 450 FM stations covering 39% of the area and 52% of the population of India.

Market research shows that Radio industry is expected to grow @ 38% in 2021 to reach IRs 1,7.5k million in advertisement revenue. This growth possibility has created tremendous opportunities; employ as many as two million young creative talents. The career options for youngsters coming from different walks of life and make a highly successful career in radio industry include being a celebrity RJ (Radio Jockey), voice over artist, copy writer, advertising head, program producer, station manager, music director to programming director.
